Common Sense vs. Book Smarts

Common sense. Book smarts are more easily achievable, and common sense isn't (look at Britney Spears).

Common sense.. even though it's not so common anymore (it becomes intelligence then!)

Good thing I'm fortunate to have both.

Or how about the ability to manipulate the weather like Storm? Pretty badass if you ask me!

That's not nearly as cool as Jubilee's ability to shoot fireworks out of her hands!

I'm of course kidding. I mean, how lame of a "super" power can you get?

"I will destroy the world!!"
"Not so fast! Taste a whole gross of bottlerockets!!"

Haha good answers, I'd go with common sense. As for B. Spears hopefully she gets some. Since we are talking about super powers and all that I'll be a wonder twin whos with me?

You know, I don't know if you can really separate the two. To me, being "book smart" implies a conceptual mastery and ability to apply one's knowledge. People that can achieve this generally also have common sense. Those that can regurgitate facts but have no ability to problem solve aren't book smart at all. Just useless.

book smarts will get you the grades, common sense will make you a more able physician. i'd choose both with a 40:60 split btwn books and common sense.

Common sense, either you have it or you don't. You can teach book smarts, you can't teach common sense.😉

what is common sense anyway? I think a person can pick it up if they pay attention to their mistakes. A common sense error won't be so common to an newbie in the field and as times goes on you can pick it up. For instance, if you have a patient with abdominal pain, you ask "what you eat?" its common sense right?

Common (advance) sense- Learning from other people's mistakes
plain sense- learning from your own

Lemme see. My last answer was, "Wisdom and Motivation." It's still the same. Common sense tells me that having wisdom means one HAS common sense. Wisdom + motivation -> having enough sense to get the book learning one needs.😉

book smarts!

common sense = just that - common. Most people have common sense. i'd rather be special! haha.

luckily most people have a little of both.
