Complete in October- any chance?

I came into this whole application process without knowing that deadlines in november/december actually mean that most people submit in the summer. So unfortunately I'm finishing up secondaries now as fast as I can and waiting on one letter of recommendation from a previous teacher that is taking forever. I've already spent time and money on this, but have this sinking feeling that I'm doomed. Any thoughts? 3.8 GPA with 30 MCAT, and average ECs. I graduated last year and have since been working in a lab. I'm applying to schools that are within my range of GPA and MCAT, but feel am feeling suuuper discouraged.
