Alright playboys (and girls), here are some pics of the rankings, in their entirety. All UC schools got a much-deserved bump, especially UCLA (on the verge of top 10), giving us yet another reason to increase our already-inflated egos regarding our incredible state:

Top Half of 2006 US News Rankings (Research)

Bottom Half of 2006 US News Rankings (Research)

Top Half of 2006 US News Rankings (Primary Care)

Bottom Half of 2006 US News Rankings (Primary Care)

Of course, rankings really don't mean that much, so I'll say this before I get flamed.

But it doesn't matter. Long Live Cali baby.

Can anyone explain how schools jumped like 30 spots in the span of a year? For example- since this seems to be a popular school around here- how Harvard jumped from #42 to number ELEVEN in the primary care rankings?? [so bogus......]

can anyone explain how they could read anything on those pictures?

Agree. OP, or anyone else, I hate to seem ungrateful, but is there any chance you could type in at least the first half of the research list? The scans are kind of hard to read. The others have all kindly been typed in on the other USN&WR thread; I'm copying them here:

How did MUSC go from 26 on primary care to not being on there at all? I hate these rankings and they're stupid. Schools don't change that much in one year.

Bogus, yes. It's pretty well known that US News rankings are "bogus." Unfortunately everyone uses them.

If anybody has access, what are the rural medicine rankings? I'm curious :p

How in the world did Boston U manage to jump from 43 to 28? That's just insane!

$128 million from NIH for a new Biosafety lab, is my guess.

That's quite a cheer you have there. LONG! LIVE! ... Cali? - Huh? What? I can understand maybe a "Go California!" or "Yay California!" but "long live Cali?" That's just awkward.

Haha I'm guessing that the OP's enthusiasm for CA isn't unique to just him/her! Everyone I know loves this place too! And as for "long live cali," I think it does make sense, even if it is in a joking way. Kinda sounds like when they say "Viva Mexico", which literally means the same LOL.

So tomorrow (April 1st) when the extended list of rankings is released to US News online members, would one of you please post 51-60 (research and primary) on this thread please? It would be great if someone did, and I will buy you a cookie for doing so. Not just any cookie--a really huge cookie. One that makes you think, 'i'm so appreciated and now i'm so full and satisfied.'
