I was completed at GWU (more than 3 months), MSSM (about 3 months), and Finch (more than 2 months), and have not received anything yet ... anyone in the same situation at any of those schools?? Do those school give out interviews recently? Seem that they have been pretty quiet recently, except for MSSM??? still have hope on those??

I'm floating in your GWU raft too.

Same here at MSSM and Finch. Probably longer. I'm sure they have been interviewing.

No, but it has been a solid 107 days since I was complete at Northwestern and still nothing...

MSSM takes a LONG time guys...I wouldn't sweat it. I was complete there for almost 1.5 months before I got an interview invite...I think the recs and the immense amount of paperwork they have is slowing them down...luckily my recs were on an online system.

GWU, on the other hand...I have NO clue what is going on with them.

Hope this helps, good luck!

I was complete in September and haven't heard from either school. So I called their admission offices last Thursday and all they could say was "your application is complete and under review"....big help. It sure is quite the waiting game. But I've already been accepted to a couple of DO school so any MD that interviews me better be ready to impress.

mssm is extremely slow, my file has been complete since the end of aug and i received an invite a couple weeks ago so be patient!

What were your stats if you don't mind me asking?

I talked to the admissions office at Finch last week and the lady said that the next batch of interview invites will be going out at the beginning of December. The interviews will be scheduled for January and early February.

So, I work at MSSM. And I'm working on a project with a MSSM MS4 -- who also happens to be on MSSM's adcom (!) -- and she told me that they've been SWAMPED with applications and that there's a real "bottleneck effect." So, have patience my friends! I've been complete since the Aug MCATs came in...nada...but it sounds like I won't hear from them for a while...I'm hoping for at least the obligatory "oh you work here!" interview invite... 🙂

Isn't Finch now Rosalind Franklin?

Yes, they changed the name I think ... I use the old name because it's short

👍 😀

In case you're curious, I interviewed at RF on 11/10 and haven't heard diddly from GWU in a looooong time.

to be honest, I really lose all of my confidence right now after waiting for so long ... I now believe that only luck can help me to get into med school ... I don't believe in what the MSAR told me anymore .... statistics lie!!!

Keep the faith, my fellow premeds!! Believe the MSAR when it tells you the number of applicants to each school and believe that it takes a really long time to go through everything. Just think of it. Would you rather have gotten a rejection at this point knowing that they weren't taking care to look into everything carefully? If they just rejected you without really taking a close look, you'd be really mad!

yeah ... waiting is better than rejection

umm.... but the stat numbers, especially for the avg accepted mcat and gpa from the MSAR seems pretty off though .... because I only picked the schools (outside of Calif) that have lower mcat and gpa than mine to apply ... and it seems that stat does not say anything much ....

oh yes, why does Finch review my app twice??? Anyone called and received an ans that your app is undergoing a second review? Is this normal?? what do people think???

I think MSSM prioritizes its applicants or something. I've been complete since Sept. 29 and no word (I'm an avg. applicant- 3.7/35). My friend was complete late October and he got an interview invite this week (3.8/39). 😡

3.7/35... AVERAGE? Since when?

I don't know ... but that just sounds fricken random to me ... This stuff is unpredictable ... Hang in there everyone!
