i was wondering if any current comp students can tell me EXActly what kind of cpu the school makes u pay a grand ayear. I want to know this because i am thinking of buying my own cpu soon, but i wannaknow what they have to offer. Does it have a burner, dvd, or is it just barebones. and how can they stop us from using our own??

Well, I can tell you what kind of comp we were issued for our year, but I am sure it will be different for your year.

It's $1250 a year for the next 4 years. The so called "technology fee". The computer is: 500 mHz Celeron, 32X CD reader, 12 gig hard drive, 64 Megs RAM, IBM Thinkpad.

As far preventing you from using your own computer, feel free but you still have to pay the MANDATORY $1250 a year for 4 years or else you won't matriculate. This happened to a friend of mine and he uses his computer as a bookend.
