Hi. I am entering medical school this fall. With all the changes that will/might take place in teaching hospitals that offer residencies (due to the manditory 80 hour limits and the pending lawsuit that the matching process is a monopoly), it seems as though these hospitals will need to drastically change the way they do business. Since teaching hospitals cost much more money to run and opperate than non-teaching hospitals, do you think that the amount of teaching hospitals in the US might decrease in the coming years resulting in less residency spots and more competition for medical school graduates? Thanks for you thoughts.
