Is it feasible to start a concierge family medicine practice right after residency? Perhaps in a large city?

Anyone know how to do this? Or a good approach to starting a concierge family medicine private practice? (No health insurance taken)

What he said. Read AtlasMD's stuff and anything else you can get your hands on. There's a lot of differing terminology out there and the community has not yet settled on standard terms, so do be sure to clarify what you mean by concierge as there can be a range of possibilities.

I know some FM residents who started a direct pay primary care (subscription based, includes all visits/labs/ekgs/some other stuff -- everything else cash only at time of service, no insurance accepted, non-subscribers can still see doc for cash visit price) right out of residency. It took them a few years to get it up and running enough to be profitable so most of them worked at urgent cares to make ends meet. They've since opened a new location in a neighboring city and are slowly continuing to expand.
