Confused About Scores Being Sent

So I plan on taking the DAT in August but for multiple reasons I am not applying this cycle. I have however checked a bunch of schools that I want my score to be sent to after completion because I thought that would mean it wouldn't cost anything. I was just wondering if they would only send the score when you actually create an application which would be next summer for me or would they just send the scores as soon as possible leaving me having to pay for them to send it next year? I'm worried that schools would just get my scores and wonder why I haven't sent in a complete application.

You've checked at least one box, you're fine, no action is needed. Your DAT scores will be imported into next year's application without having to do anything.
