Congrats to the new Iowa Residents!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does anyone know if other programs have also posted the list of people who matched there? I think this is a great idea. I wish all programs followed Iowa's example.

Yeah, Congrats Jason! Good to see you got your first choice.

Thanks. After reading this board for the past couple of days, I feel like the luckiest bastard alive!!

Thanks Andrew. Too bad we'll miss your time there. Jason, I'm looking forward to working with you. I'm feeling luckier than lucky, if that's possible.

Andrew,

I didn't know you visted this forum! Great to have you posting here.

I'm working on coming back for fellowship if the Navy permits. You may see me back for ocular path and possibly neuro-op before you graduate! 😀

Congrats again and great job!

Hey Steffensmeier- congratulations!

I talked to you in KC and in (ahem) Galveston. I knew you'd get your top choice...hope we run in to each other sometime in the future.

Adam,
I saw you're headed to UTSW. Way to go!! Good luck down there.

Can anyone provide names for people who matched at UTSW ?

Garp - why would you want to torture yourself at UTSW by working till 7-8pm at parkland like a machine, having no guidance and deal with arrogant chairman/vice chairman?

UTSW had a great presentation during interview session but reality is very different! It is a good training program where you work your ass off during your PGY I year and have to deal with mean people! Residents are nice!

LASKIKguy-

If they fooled me during the presentation, then they also fooled me for an entire month when I rotated there and the 1st year ophthos were leaving Parkland clinic between 5-6.

And there is no way in hell I would spend my prelim year at Parkland.

I was impressed by UT Southwestern too. Nice surgical volume and awesome group of residents.

Parkland can have some late days in the beginning when the first years are brand new. But later in the year we also have some really early days when everyone gets rolling. also we do rotations at other hospitals also where you can get out at 3-3:30 on a regular basis and still see a lot of patients and get great volume.

Dr. Doan, after visiting the Iowa website, and sifting through the posts on this board, I can honestly say that I am freaked out by how intelligent some of you guys are:wow: .

:horns: Rock on:horns:
