I applied to a graduate program in two departments (dual concentration) approximately 5 weeks ago according to the eMail they sent me. A decision takes 2-3 weeks and I received acceptance from one department about 10 days ago. After contacting the grad. admissions department they told me who to contact in the second department, which I did through eMail.

That person informed that a decision would be made later that day and to contact them then, which I did. 3 days later no decision and no reply...

How should I go about handling this? Do I contact the person again?

I don't want to come across as impatient and torpedo my chances with this second department but I would like to at least get some sort of timeline.

Yeah, I'm going to go with your advice and just give it a few more days then try another friendly email or telephone call. I appreciate the reply, btw.
