I work in a research lab at a major hospital in XXX dept. (subset of dept of medicine) My PI wrote my rec letter, and had the chief cosign it. The chief knows my name etc. but I've only interacted with him a few times. I know having their name on it is good, but what does that mean in the eyes of an adcom? This is just out of pure curiosity, not sure if it actually means much since i didnt work in the chiefs lab etc. but its still cool to have it cosigned

Adcom will interpret the content of the letter before looking at the authors of it and judge it accordingly.
