Hi,
This may be a stupid question, but I am wondering if the counseling programs work on a mentorship model the way that the clinical phd's do? Should you apply with one mentor in mind, or are they more general. I haven't found anything stated on the website for the program I have in mind (Boston College).
Thanks!

Some counseling psychology programs are mentorship and some will assign a mentor. If it's not clear which type of program it is it doesn't hurt to email the program director. Also, you can read through the application information, like the essay questions and the application itself to see if anything asks you to identify a professors(s).

You can always email programs and ask. Sometimes it also says explicitly on the program's website.
