What is the difference between the two degree programs? I looked at UNT and saw that they had a degree in counseling psychology (psychology dept) and a degree in counseling (college of education)

A doctoral program in counseling usually prepares an MA-level Counselor with experience for supervision of counseling students and/or more administrative positions. A Counseling Psychology PhD trains you to be a licensed psychologist.

Old thread, but wanting to bump it. Have the same general question...

Is there any difference/advantage/disadvantage to an MA degree in Counseling VS an MA degree in Counseling Psychology?
