I plan to take the MCAT this coming April. I am wondering whether or not to take courses at the graduate school of basic medical sciences, NY medical College or simply substitute teach while I prepare for the MCAT. Does anyone have advice?

Perhaps you can do both. I took graduate course while I taught introductory biology course as a graduate student before starting med school. It looks great on your cv, even later on when applying for residency.

Dear Dr. P
Thank you for taking the time to apply to my posting. My only concern is the time required to score well on the MCAT. I havent taken Physics or General Chemistry in about 4 years. Were you studying for the MCAT while taking graduate Biology coursework?

subbing is a great job to have while preparing for the MCAT. i was a science sub before i started med school and i had tons of extra time to do other things. personally i wouldn't take grad classes - you'll get enough of that your first two years. also - you might try private tutoring chem/bio/physics to high school kids - you can make bucks and besides, you have to relearn that crap for the MCAT anyway.
