Cover Letter and Resume (Send as PDF or MSWORD)?

Quick question...

If not explicitly stated, is it okay to send cover letters and resume as a PDF file?

Yes, but if you're emailing a person I'd make the cover letter the text of the email.
 
agree with bond. cover letter as the body of the e-mail and then i'd attach a word file. i personally think they're easier to deal with. my computers hate pdfs. they take too long to load.

I hope the OP isn't sending a resume/cover letter to an adcom. He wants to go to med school, not work for admissions, right? :)
