I’m really interested n hippotherapy (therapy using horses for OT). I was wondering if there are any other creative type of jobs for OT. Besides working in a clinical setting?
Thanks!

- surfing therapy found at VAs and jimmy Miller foundation
- animal assisted therapy (there’s some places that incorporate dolphins in Florida, most commonly dogs)
- aquatic therapy (found effective for a variety of diagnoses including stroke)
- yoga therapy
- nature camps - most commonly with peds for sensory exploration
- incorporation of art - check out painted brain in LA

The best thing about being an OT is that you can find a niche in anything that you are passionate about and is a meaningful occupation for someone. I work at a hospital but have led groups to the pool, outside for gardening, bowling alley, local rock climbing gym, even the mall, etc. This is what sets us apart from other disciplineS- get creative :)
