Hi guys!
I'm in junior year right now, and I'm drowned in one of my class. It's not counted in the pre-med science class though. I really don't want it to hurt my GPA, so should I choose Credit/ non credit option for my class?
How does medical school see the credit/ noncredit option? Does they evaluate it as C for credit and F for non credit?
Thanks.:(

Classes taken Pass/Fail are not counted into your GPA at all by AMCAS. It sounds like your school's disignation of Credit/Noncredit is probably the same. The class will be listed on your transcript with the "grade" but has no imact on your overall calculation for GPA.

To quote the AMCAS instruction booklet:

If the [FONT=Verdana+Bold0]U.S. institution .awarding transfer credit does NOT
provide letter grades other than Pass/Fail:


Indicate "Pass/Fail" as the Course Type and provide all
other required course data, entering the transcript grade
exactly as it appears on the official transcript of the
institution awarding transfer credit.


AMCAS will NOT include this course work in AMCAS GPAs;
however, AMCAS will include this course work in cumulative
Pass/Fail - Pass and Pass/Fail - Fail credit hour totals.

Thanks a lot for information. I might have to choose that option.
