How does AMCAS factor in the credit you received for high school IB/AP courses?

oh come on...someone has to know...i was just curious

From my handy AMCAS print-out, the AP classes gave me a grae of G but they didn't count it in for semester hours. And my freshman GPA as calculated by AMCAS was pretty close to my actual transcript GPA, so I don't think they factor AP credits into the calculation. However, all the school I applied to told me that as long as the AP stuff is on the official university transcript, they'll count it.

I assume that you just have credit with no grade on your transcript for the classes at your school. Therefore they are listed in the hours they just don't affect the AMCAS GPA.

If you had dual credit from HS which has a grade then that is counted into the GPA.
