I was accepted to both but i'm not sure which to pick? what are the advantages of going to one over the other? what would you guys do? Is creighton really an excellent school but just not ranked in the top because it's jesuit or is going to Iowa really the better thing to do if i want to keep options open in the future for a competitive residency?

thank you in advance

Dude what are you talking about you are all over the map...where does Iowa enter the discussion here...

oops, sorry, i was thinking of both wisconsin and iowa.... vs Creighton... lol

thanks for noting this 😛

I too was accepted to Creighton and Iowa (not Wisconsin). Right now I am leaning toward Iowa. Both were fantabulous in coming across as schools that really care about the success of their students, but I have to say that I loved the new facilities at Iowa, the CELLS program, and Iowa City is a lot more cosmopolitan than you may think (plus I have family there). It will still be difficult and I still have my state school interview in March. But I am leaning toward Iowa. If you have a chance, go to the April meet and greet at Iowa and see if these are the type of students you would want to spend the next 4 years with.

Alright now I get it...as far as I see it if you have to pay full tuition at all these schools look heavily at Iowa and Wisconsin...they are both a little higher regarded than Creighton...Creighton isn't a bad place but they have had some problems in the past with their administrations stupid decision to do the creighton undergrad guareenteed admission thing...this screwed up their match list and residency reputation for a bit, but that program got axed and they are back on track. Iowa and Wisconsin are just better funded schools and I'm sure you could tell by the sparkling new buildings each has. Wisconsin and Iowa stack up pretty even in my opinion both produce great specialists, primary care docs and academicians. Wisconsin is I believe ranked a little higher and honestly Madison is one of the coolest tons out there with the lakes surrounding the city and the beautiful running trails. Even as an Iowa resident I would be tempted to go to Wisconsin...but that said Carver and University Hospitals are both terrific, the education and facilities are top notch and the enviroment is great. Iowa City is a inexpensive and fun place to live...but all in all there aren't huge differences between Iowa and Wisconsin...I don't think you can go wrong with either and honestly Creighton is a solid choice...I just think the others are in much better locations.
