Have done 2 years of categorical surgery and want to stop for critical care. Heard someone who did preliminary surgery 1-2 years went into Surgical Critical Care. However, according to NRMP, they require 3 years of some surgical residency. Could I still do it? I am assuming I would not be eligible for anesthesia and EM critical care.
