Do you know what the commitment is to qualify for the Accession Bonus? I seem to remember 4 years, but I'm not sure if that's right.

and its paid out over four years (and its taxed). Anybody go this route? I would want to speak to detailer and make sure billet available in my geographic location of choice (San Diego), curious to know if anyone has experience with this...
 
Depends entirely on specialty as to whether or not these would help close the gap on civilian pay.

Since you would then have a contracted obligation I doubt you would be eligible for specialty pay.
I doubt the recruiters are volunteering that information.
