Hi all,

I am a recent grad, been working in a private office for about 2 months now. There are 2 very experienced dentists in the office and the office is gear towards the high end clients. With the bad economy and all that, I am having serious thoughts of doing a GPR program and possibly further training. My question is will I be less competitive when applying for a program than a current student? And any input on whether a GPR is a good place for further GP training or something else?

I understand GPR is not the place to train for cosmetic or anything, but I 'd think it will make me more prepare for the harsh market outside.

Any input/advise is appreicated 🙂

Even though I can't really relate to your situation. This is my 2cents. I would think that you would have an edge over a current student when applying for a GPR, simply because you have been out practicing, and you said you are a "recent grad", so it's not like you've been away from school for 15yrs. I also think a GPR would provide even more great training on top of what you already have. And with this economy, you can diversify your practice with what you learn in the R, as well as what you already know about cosmetics.
