CS -- can we take notes in the room?

if we are planning to type out our notes to submit for grading -- are we allowed to bring in a pen / paper into the patient's room to take notes with?

Yes, the NBME provides the pens and the paper and you are allowed to take notes in the room, even if you type your note. You can ONLY use their pens and paparer and each sheet of paper is numbered and collected BEFORE moving onto the next case. You can NOT write on the sheet before the case starts, even if you're just testing to see if your pen has enough ink! They're very strict about these things.
