Hey everyone.
So, I'm currently in Saudi Arabia and am going to be here until mid-December. I'm gonna start back at uni in the spring. I've dedicated essentially all of my free time to studying for the MCAT but I was wondering what other things I could do while I'm here that would bolster my application for med school or just help me for this entire process overall. It doesn't have to be something specific to Saudi Arabia. Just wondering about your guys's ideas about what I can do while I'm here and not in school.

I should mention I don't know the language. Is there some sort of independent research or study I can do that you guys can think of? Like you said, I want at least to show that I have continued drive and motivation!

Learn Arabic? I am assuming you are there because you have family there (ex-pats working there, maybe) and you don't have an alternative living situation in the US. Find a volunteer gig in a English language school or tutor English speaking kids who need help with math & science. Tutoring can be out of the goodness of your heart or as a little business, depending on circumstances. It will give you something to put on your application for this period of time that you are away from school.

Yeah I'm trying to learn Arabic, of course. I'm here because I'm trying to get an F1 visa and I do have a home in the US. As for tutoring, that's actually a pretty good idea, I will look into it. Thanks!
