Does anyone else love the new CVS commercial? The animated one where the mom is taking care of her son, then she walks into CVS and she's the pharmacist? I'm sitting at work right now and I can't get the song from the commercial out of my head. It just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside...it makes me want to go to CVS!:laugh:
 
HaHa I work for CVS and let me tell you, its very rare you feel fuzzy inside when your working! I do have to give CVS credit for putting out some good commercials...The other drug chains seem to have fallen behind CVS' advertising campaign lately
 
Oh, and BTW mustang sally, I have that exact picture as my desktop wallpaper! I see you enjoy Mustangs as well? 😉

Yes, some of my friends make fun of me for liking Fords, but I still think Mustangs are smokin'!

haha no you end up waiting in line cursing the person in front of you for having insurance problems and not being able to speak english so we have to call in someone from the front store to translate. all this while listening to "crocodile rock" by elton john and watching the pharmacist do QA while staring at the screen all day.

That is the hokiest commercial I've seen this year. It's also a damned lie. Nobody goes into retail pharmacy because they care, they go into it because they want a damn good payin' job...but they want it in a way that it appears palatable and altruistic to themselves and other people. If you really just cared about people, you'd be Lieutenant PharmD guy/gal working with the Indian Health Service....

All I'm going to say is not everyone thinks like you...I plan to go into retail and I do care about the patients. Maybe people go into retail instead of those other careers you suggested because retail jobs are more plentiful and closer to their homes?

Another way I look at is retail gives you the ability to work with a lot of patients - of all walks of life. I believe only a few pharmacists view the world of retail like you, hopefully for the patients sake...Just my 2 cents.
 
The video is erroneous. It clearly shows the CVS flooring as green tile, not the crappy red motel/casino carpet that they truly have. :meanie:

I've never seen a retail pharmacy job where you actually help people beyond the scope that the guy at Lowe's helps you pick out the correct lawnmower. I do agree with you that only a few pharmacists see it like me. Most of them are in denial...

Well look at the bright side, you don't have to work in retail...I'm sure with your wonderful personality you can get a job anywhere. 😀

I really love this commercial...then again, I'm a girl so maybe I like hokey things. The commercial makes me want to go to CVS and get some drugs...and that's the whole point of advertising, right? Whether or not the pharmacists care is irrelevant, as long as the consumer has the perception that they care (at least until he/she gets in the door of CVS).

true, the function of the marketing department isn't necessarily to portray the reality of things. I mean, how often do you sit out in a bathtub overlooking some rocks? (reference to some Cialis commercial I saw).

Huh. I get the strange desire to stick C4 on the walls of the nearest CVS after it closes, run away, and detonate that mofo. Odd how people differ.

As long as you have no women on your jury. Since CVS is Home Depot for women, not only would you be convicted, you might get the death penalty....

As I read your posts, I try to remind myself of the picture from the Clarinex cereals post--the bright handsome young man smiling. Where is that talented fellow 😎😀 ? And seriously, with your personality, people will love to have you worked for them so you don't have to be on welfare :laugh:
