Cyclic Ketone Question

Can someone explain why numbering this cyclic ketone (see image attatchment) counter-clockwise (so that the ethyl group has a location number of 2) is correct? Why not number it clockwise (so that the isopropyl group has a location number of 2)?

The name of the compound is 2-ethyl-7-isopropylcycloheptanone. Does the numbering here have to do with ethyl coming before isopropyl alphabetically?
