Hi everyone!
I came across an answer on Topscore Test 1 that says: The mirror (enantiomer) of any D-sugar is a L-sugar. Why is this true?
I know that sugar L- and D- depends only on the C-5 of Fisher projection and on whether the CH2OH is pointing up or down in Haworth projection. If I want to change D-glucose to L-glucose I only need to change C-5, not all chiral carbons, and thus I just made a diasteoreomer, not an enantiomer. Am I missing something?
Thanks everyone!
