I'm a Canadian student and I got a D in genetics because my request for deferring the final exam (worth 50%) was denied..
I had a really bad flu during the day of the exam and the reason for denial was that I missed genetics exam(9am) but went to anatomy exam at 2pm on the same day... :( (They didn't understand how I was able to take 2pm exam while I was really sick to miss 9am exam.. :bigtears:)

I still have GPA of 3.6 but would having a D in my transcript affect my acceptance to any US dental schools a lot? Should I retake this course?

btw, it says "D1" in my transcript. 1 meaning that I missed an exam or a major assignment

Since its a genetics class, I would retake if I were in your position.

That's too bad man. Yeah I'd definitely retake that genetics class.

Can you try fighting it? Like maybe go to your dean or something?

lol

Does that ever work?

You never know. I worked with the Dean at my school. And she said students barely come to see her. She said she wants student to come and let her know if they're in trouble...
