Has anyone heard anything from Dartmouth? I've been complete for months but heard nothing thus far. I also noticed that only 2 people have posted interviews from Dartmouth. Are they not giving out many?

I am an August MCATer. I am scheduled to interview there next week. My invite came via snail-mail right after Thanksgiving.
I don't really know why they invited me. I think they favor older married applicants, because they are at a rural location and are family-friendly in general.
I am really looking forward to visiting Dartmouth. I recently had a chance to meet with some Dartmouth-Hitchcock residents. They are really friendly and happy bunch. Lots of attention is given to students and residents by the faculty.

I heard from Dartmouth about a month after my application was complete. According to my Medical School Admissions Requirements book, last year they interviewed 599 people out of 4947 applicants. I interviewed there in December and really liked it. I think they interview up until March or whenever the class is filled. When's your Rochester interview? I just heard from them today finally  (I thought they had forgotten about me because I sent in my secondary in early September!). Best of luck!

My rochester interview is January 12th. Congrats on your invite. I just hope I get the Dartmouth invite soon, I love the school, and as a bonus I can still watch D1 hockey 😀.

Edik, I am also a non-traditional applicant, married and with a bouncing baby girl. August MCATer, MD/PhD applicant. Dartmouth is my far and away first choice because we are in love with the area, and grandparents live down the road. Can you tell me at what date you were complete? I was complete 12/15 or so.

Does anyone know if MD/PhD secondaries take significantly longer to review?

Best of luck with your interview!

Reckoning,
I was complete at the end of October. Took them a month to send me the invite. If this is their turn around time, and you were complete on 12/15, you probably wouldn't hear until the end of January (factor in Cristmas break).
As far as the 3 interview dates - it's Dartmouth standard way to schedule interviews. I also got 3 dates to choose from (late January. Turned out they had cancelations before that.). So I don't think that they are done interviewing for MD/PhD yet.
Best of luck to you.

Edik and ManchotPi,
Thanks for your responses.

ManchotPi, from Ediks's post it sounds like all candidates receive three possible interview dates. I would be really surprised to hear that MD/PhD candidates are no longer being considered, since I was given no indication. But I would be interested in how you got the 3 student figure. Do you mean that three students have been admitted so far? I think typically admitted each year. You can PM if you like. Thanks. I'm PM you with other questions.

Just came back from Dartmouth.
The director of admissions specifically mentioned that they usually accept 5 MD/PhD students each year. Also, there were 2 MD/PhD candidates among the crowd yesterday. I guess they wouldn't be interviewing them if everything were filled up.
So it is definitely not too late.
Good luck.
PS. I must say that I fell in love with Dartmouth. Great school, hospital is unbelievable, and the surrounding nature is breathtaking.

Sounds like things went very well for you, Edik. Here's to a prompt acceptance! It gives me the heebeegeebees to think of 2 MD/PhD candidates waiting for interviews... I hope they think I can compete with whoever was sitting there with you! Come on, guys, give me a shot!

And thanks for more info. Be sure to record your interview experience on the feeback site! I'll know who to PM if I get an interview. (Or if you feel like PMing me your experience, I'd be much obliged...)

I'm still waiting for a definable answer from Dartmouth, too. I got an email from them Nov. 11 letting me know they'd be in touch by snail mail. I've got my first interview coming up on Mon. at U.Conn. so I've got other things on my mind. Seems like it's taking a while, but then again, I haven't heard back from Emory or Drexel yet either.
