Did anybody get a copy of this DVD ROM in the mail?

I wish more schools would do something like this, it was pretty in-depth and covered everything from curriculum to community service to location.

The Medical College of Ohio has one, too. They send it out in place of the usual brochures. Their first edition a couple of years ago was pretty rudimentary, but this year's is excellent. It has info on all of their programs, though, not just med school (PT, OT, PA, etc). The cool thing was being able to "stand" on campus and "look" all around you.

Dartmouth...a distant memory.

UCSF sends out the same sort of thing, only it's on CD rather than DVD and not quite as thorough. I wish all the schools would do this!

At which stage did you receive these DVDs and CDs-- pre-interview, post-interview, or post-acceptance? I imagine they don't just send them out to people they're deciding against, so is the receipt of these materials as good a sign as it sounds?

The reason I ask is that I'm still waiting for decisions from both Dartmouth and UCSF, and I think I would do quite a little dance at the mailbox if I received any kind of *advertisement* from them during the wait.

yes, I wish more schools would send out dvds. I don't even have a player (hm...lol) but I could sure use the jewel cases

supergrover,

The DVD came with a letter congratulating me on getting accepted (I was accepted to Dartmouth around December 1st).

So I guess they are only giving it out to people who got accepted. But I withdrew my application so I'm not sure why they sent it to me.
