Guys, I bet DAT destroyer is the most helpful tool I have encountered. I have studied through out the whole book for one and half week and took the Top Score for the "test drive". My scores were between the borderline of 19 and 20 for the first time I took the exam. DAT Destroyer has prepared me a solid foundation of Science. I think you guys should purchase the DAT destroyer and call Nancy and Dr. Romano for help. Nancy and Dr. Romano are very nice and friendly. I feel fortunated to have the DAT Destroyer in my own hands especially the Ochem and Biology.

I always input my DAT scores (topscore and DAT achiever) in the Excel's spread sheet and graph them to observe my strength and weakness. I think you guys should do that. It's very helpful to me.

I will take the DAT by the end of Feb. With love and respect, I wish all of you will get into dental school...

Oh..Just to remind you guys...go to buy the erase board and marker to practice in advance....Thanks to Nancy...

Personally, I think DAT Audiolearn was the best. It's the only tool I used to score a 24. I would like to personlly thank the author Shahrad Yazdani for creating such a wonderful produce. The customer service people were also really helpful on the phone and email. I've now been accept to Harvard Dental School because of it. Thank you dr. Yazdani!!!!

FYI, people who score 19-20 on topscore routinely score 22-23 on the real DAT. Consider that before you repost with "Destroyer is amazing! I got the same score everybody else got who never used it!"

So, from my experience, I'd have to say that some of us truly appreciate the materials and help provided from Dr. R and Nancy, and we're so happy about it, we automatically come to SDN and share the news with everyone.

I can just say, I wish I went over the Destroyer questions more thoroughly again last night before I took my DAT this afternoon...because if I did...I wouldn't have missed the questions I needed to get 25+. I went back over the questions after my exam, and I couldn't believe that the problems I was stuck on during the DAT were right in front of me! If I had gone over the explanations in the back more thoroughly, I wouldn't have missed an important point. 👍

So, up to you, if some of you think we're advertising, keep thinking it, and miss out on advise and help from those of us who have used the Destroyer and done well on the DAT. 😎 But I know some people who haven't used it and still did fabulous on the exam. It really all depends on each individual.

Ok, I must say I HATED the DAT Destroyer stuff all over SDN. I took the DAT without it and did fine!
BUT!!!! my friend retook the DAT and this time bought the DAT Destroyer and he scored way better than I could ever imagine. 😱 He only used it for a week and a half! 😱 SO I guess IT DOES WORK, so avoid yourself having a bad score and get it 👍

I personally never used DAT Destroyer (or heard of it) until I started viewing these forums, well after I took the DAT. I took a Kaplan course almost a year ago and that worked wonders. I know for some people it didn't, but I was definitely satisfied with what I got out of it.

Saying that DAT Destroyer helped in a sentence or two is perfectly fine. Just like I talked about Kaplan above.

The difference is that you dedicated a couple paragraphs to Dr. Romano and Nancy and their product and how you were in love with it. I don't care how much it helped you - that's still more an advertisement than just sharing your study methods. Especially when the same type of post appears at least every two days here.

In general (to everyone):

I'm getting tired of hearing about Dr. Romano and Nancy and DAT Destroyer and how it's everyone's bible and they are these gods of the DAT. It would be much more effective to just say that you used their product and that they are helpful people, rather than write an essay about it.

I just want to share my experiences to some students here. I totally agree with some of you guys who used other sources besides DAT Destroyer and could be able to get the fine scores. However some of us here need other valuable sources such as DAT Destroyer. I don't agree with the way of StudentDentist has mentioned about Dr. Romano. Personally, the issues here is not the matter of publishing his works to "the market, Amazon or to save...". It's up to him. However, the most important point is who could be able to deliver the good resources to some students here in this forum.
To StreetWolf, I don't write this post to praise them. I just want to share my experieces to other people. Maybe you are tired to see this post, but other students may find this is very important to them.

I used the destroyer and got a 21 in Bio my first attempt at the DAT and 19's on my O'Chem and Gen Chem. I took a year of Gen Chem in 3 months and O'Chem at a Community College- I am not super smart- and I am three years out of college. The DAT was the most like the questions in the Destroyer and matter a fact, most of the science questions were a lot easier on the actual test. Just thought I would put out my honest opinion on the matter of study aides- I thought the Kaplan PAT was good, but I ran out of time to study. Good luck to all of you.

i found the bio on the destroyer to be easy, but good practice. the chemistry sections are challenging and good though. i'm gonna go over them a few more times. i'm gonna see what the math section is like tomorrow.

it's expensive!!!! but i guess it's worthwhile purchasing one .

when i recievevd those two books by mail, i was so disappointed cuz
they DO NOT look like expensive books at all...-_-;
it looks like a course packet you purchase from a duplicate place.
i've been asking all of my friends to guess the price of those books
and NO ONE said over 100. (one of them was like. 5 bucks? i almost killed her...)
anyway. appearance wouldn't be that important i guess...
it's a really good review and i highly recommend you buy one.
it would be better if you can find used oned for lesser price. hehe

Hey, had a question about DAT destroyer, is the math pretty close to the real DAT cuz I think the math on DAT destroyer is pretty straight forward, and i missed 1 out of 100 question.
Also, G.chem, i had a lil hard time with that section, is it suppose to be a lil hard or do I just need to spend more time on it?!

Inaddition, scoring in the low teens makes me lose hope. Help! What am I doing wrong? Best way in studying for the DAT and making those 25+ scores everyone is talking about with the destroyer and etc ...

Everyone has certain texts that help them out to do better on this text. My personal opinion use what you feel helps you the most. I know that i tried every product and each product had its own benefits. Topscore was great for the reading and math Kaplan gave me more questions to practice on Destroyer was helped me out for the natural sciences. So all in all i think to do great on this text you should feel like youve seen and witnessed all the possible materials. This way you will come into the test comfortable and prepared to bang out any question that is put forth. Hope that helps guys!

Excuse us, but our goal is not to make a believer out of you. No offense, but we're not a bunch of missionaries hell bent on making "destroyer" as ur only means for dental salvation.

Think of these "I'm done" threads as an individual's award speech at the Oscars. You thank the people that got you there. Frankly, I can't thank these "Finally I’m Done with the DAT" threads enough ---> because without their motivation and their DAT Destroyer recommendations, I would not have scored as high as I did.

Also, don't buy into these DAT study material wars. You will only benefit from using Everything you get ur hands on. Unless your brother works for Kaplan, or you know the Achiever guy... I really don't understand why these 'advertisements' would turn u away from buying something that you would only benefit from. Trust me, these posts are not 'advertisements' but genuinely sincere thanks. 🙂

In the end you’re a smart guy/girl, so you could make ur own choice. But don’t belittle people's posts in order to make your point. People are trying to help others out… this isn’t like those crazy paid infomercials with some fat guy telling you over and over again about how some knife can cut a rock & a penny one second, and still sharp enough to slice a tomato the very next... now that's an advertisement 😀

"INSERT KICK ASS SCORES HERE"

"My name is ________, and I did really well on the DAT. I took the advice from Dr. Romano and Nancy. They told me ___________________________. Nancy is such a sweet ____________. They are sooooo nice! Buy DAT destroyer!

It's the same format over and over again. Also, the majority of those who praise it have a low post count. I am not, REPEAT, not commenting on the VALIDITY of the statement, only the statement itself. Maybe Destroyer is the best DAT prep out there, I dont know. I cannot comment on that because I have not tried it. I am only commenting on the trend. Reading those "Im Done" threads gives you a keen sense on picking these repetitive trends up. Several of the other posters on SDN would agree with me as well.

There may be people who can read through Kaplan once and then go straight to the Destroyer, but not everyone can. Go back to the Kaplan book, and study Kaplan thoroughly... don't just read it through. Then, and only then, attempt the Destroyer.

busupshot83, I definitely agree with you concerning having a foundation before starting the destroyer. That has been my approach and it has worked well. Personally, I think the destroyer deserves more love on this forum than any other product. It is the only material that accurately tests your foundation, showing you where you are strong and weak. Additionally, I don't know of any other product where you can talk to the author, especially one with a Ph.D. and DDS. So, yeah, I think its all good that people are showing some love for Dr R....

I understand what you mean, but these "I'm Done" threads do warn you with the Subject Title: Im Done. You are only stating the obvious that they are going to follow a format, which consists of an individual stating their scores and thanking Achiever/Topscore/Destroyer/Kaplan/ -or- Barrons. This should be expected and allowed in the DAT FORUM 🙄

Personally, I get more annoyed with posts asking if a person should go to Tufts/UPenn or Harvard, and they can't make a decision. But the thing is that these people give a fair warning of their thread content by simply stating "Tufts or UPenn" in the subject title; thus giving u the option to avoid the thread if you aren't concerned with the individuals current dilemma.

Your claim of the "I'm Done" posts being advertisements implies that you get falsely lured into something u do not care for. If you found a trend in these posts, THEN DON'T CLICK ON THEM. And if you do, then do not reply by stating that these threads are merely ads for Dr. Romano. You turn the attention away from a person's achievement, to some ridiculous conspiracy theory!

[Interesting that no one cares when Kaplan/Topscore and Acheiver are praised, but the recent Destroyer praises seems to irk people] 😉

Thank you for the advise. I am not letting go of Kaplan blue book until I get it down! Then, I will do the destroyer problems over and over and put it to the test, see if I can get higher scores from low teens to twenty's. 😉 And become a roll model too!

Remember: although Kaplan is the "base" material, it still is a lot of material. Therefore, don't get discouraged that you don't understand it all yet. As I said earlier, just put in more time.

I just finished the bio section. I like it but i dont think its gona be the sole reason for high scores. Its really helpful, but then again, i can also write some random bio fact on a slip of paper and hand it to you and thats also helpful. Bottom line: its comparable to a review sheet u look off of a few nites before the finals.

I have 5K+ posts,have met dr romano and nancy more than once, and used destroyer and got the aforementioned 'kick ass scores'. however, obviously people DONT use destroyer and still do well, its just a helpful tool.
