I am currently studying for the DAT and have come across a website that proclaims to help you ace the DAT with information from DAT test experts. After reading the website's lengthy pitch it seems legit, but I just wanted to see if anybody had any experience with them. They provide a downloadable pdf file.

Any input is appreciated.

Here is the link:

Thanks very much.

I've come across schemes like this and I'll just tell you that keep an eye brow raised when testing material like this out. Especially, when it is a E-Book, why couldn't they publish it?

Granted, it deters shipping costs, but registering with Library of Congress and having its own ISBN is important to make it worthwhile. I didn't read the entire advertisement but make sure it is legit. Anyone can compile stuff and put it on the web and charge you money.

It isn't that much, but don't be surprised if it just gives you common sense information that you, yourself could figure out and by SDN.

There is no easy way to ace the DAT, but only two:

1.) Do good in your classes
2.) practice and do more practice

The blurb on the site indicates that the "secrets" are merely test-taking strategies.

These strategies could certainly help you with the exam, but there are a plethora of places you can find them.

See if your undergraduate school has a division which helps students do better on standardized tests. I'm betting that they have the same information as does this website.

Like Desi said, nothing is a replacement for practice and study. Test-taking skills can help, but should not replace studying.

You are in luck, because I actually ordered that guide. It was originally created for the MCAT. I guess they got smart and started marketing it to DAT students since the two exams cover the same material for all intensive purposes. Don't buy it. It's a crock. It provides you with common sense advice. I'm not trying to be crass but if you read it, it's a joke. For example, one of their so called ingenius pieces of advice was identifying and eliminating answers. If two answers are alike then you know you should eliminate them in a multiple choice format. Well duh! The entire packet contains b.s. like that. It's a scam for the most part. I will say this though. They did refund my money and I still have the packet. But I won't give it out. Sorry, but I do believe in honor. They were nice enough to actually follow their policy and return my money ASAP so I don't want to rip them off either. Nonetheless, I should just deleted that PDF since I never read it. Don't buy it.

If anyone offers valuable advice, it's Tinkerbell. Check her profile out and read her archived answers to DAT study prep. Her advice on getting the GRE practice book for the math has been invaluable.

The only thing I would like advice on is how to study for the PAT. Everyone has been dead on about the Kaplan. If you know that book, you will know the answers to academic sections minus the math of course. The PAT is still a gray area. I would be much obliged if someone could identify some PAT study prep materials or advice.
