Does anyone know how many total spots there are every year????
Is it more than 2,500 spots????? That would be an ave of about 132 students per school per entering class...

And... If the decrase in the # of applicants conintues... then overall chances of getting in are 1 in 3... Not too bad...
They use to be 1 in 5......

If anyone has data for 2001 EC please add....

the ratio of acceptances to applicants for osteopathic scholls was 1:2.7 respectivly. So, I guess we have a 1 in 2.7 chance of getting in ;) . The gpa and mcat scores was what you listed, but it ranges quite a bit from one school to another. Some averages are a low as 3.2, and some as high as 3.65.

Here is current date on how many students enroll each year at each school:

AZCOM: 125
CCOM: 160
DMUCOM: 205
KCOM: 150
LECOM: 144
MSUCOM: 124
NYCOM: 260
NOVA: 180
OUCOM: 100
OSUCOM: 88
PCOM: 250
PCSOM: 60
TOURO: 100
UHSCOM: 220
UMDNJSOM: 75
UNECOM: 115
TCOM: 115
WVSOM: 75
COMP: 176

Source: AACOM Web Site

TOTAL: 2722 in the year 2000

This probably varies from year to year so figure on 2700 - 2750 spots open each year.

The Annual Report given by AACOM reports an estimated 6,500 - 7,200 applicants for the 2001 class.

During our orientation at PCOM we were told there were about 4500 applicants and about 400 interviews....So do the math. Although as you can see from the other posts about PCOM and their "state pref" these numbers could be skewed a bit.
