I am around $130K in debt. I personally have not heard of regular jobs paying off loans. One guy in my class got a job at CVS, $30k sign-on bonus with a 3 yr contract, but remember, sign-on bonuses are taxed around 40%.
The US Air Force was offering something like $50k sign on and pay off loans, but you need to do 4+ years. The Captain salary is only around $50k, so it's much less than civilian world.
A day (or overnight) in my job - overnight pharmacist working 7-on 7-off.
I pull narcotics 2 times a night, answer questions from nurses/doctors about drugs/doses, take orders, enter orders in the computer(most of my time spent entering orders). Some nights I dose aminoglycosides/vanco. I make IV's when the tech is out of the pharmacy.
Correct patient profiles if there are errors. Enter the same day surgery and outpatient IV orders.
I don't really get a "break" since I am by myself for most of my shift (I have a tech), so I can't really leave to take a break. I usually eat at my computer while working.
Third shift/overnights pay the best, bigger differential.
I make around $75/hr Overtime.
This year I will make around $115k gross. I have heard the hospital I work at is a little low pay-wise.
