Deadline for PEFs?

Is there a generally accepted time frame for asking your evaluators to complete your PEFs? I was thinking 2 or 3 weeks? (This is for pedo residency, and all my evaluators are private practice clinicians, since I graduated from dental school 16 years ago.)
