I'm a little curious (and by "curious" I mean "extremely worried") about the AMCAS deadlines. My premed advisor has been one fraction of a step above useless, and so I've been on my own for most of this. I waited until I received my MCAT scores to submit my app, and since I had to take the August MCAT, I just received scores yesterday. So, my application has been submitted by the October 15th deadline for many schools...

... but my undergrad institutions have not yet submitted my official transcripts to AMCAS. They should get there within the next week (I hope), but will medical schools with an October 15th deadline consider these "late" and not consider me for admission? I'm already submitting my application later than I would have wanted (damn MCAT scores), so I have enough going against me as it is. Any thoughts?

i think you have 2 weeks to get your transcripts in after the deadline. check the tHe amcas website

If the medical schools have a set deadline for receiving AMCAS by October 15th then you "might" be late because AMCAS *first* has to VERIFY your application (this is done with official transcripts from your school) once that is done THEN they submit to the schools.

Good idea... why didn't I think of that.

I checked the deadlines, and indeed, transcripts must be submitted within 14 days of the deadline. So I have a little bit of time to get my schools to take care of it. Thank God for small favors.

Thanks, madonna.
