Has anyone else noticed how in the TPR PS review manual (hyperlearning), they always use cos 30=0.85 in their problems/solutions? It's not 0.85, it's 0.866. Round it to 0.87, or even to 0.9. I always end up getting a very different answer whenever I use the correct value, it's so annoying. Why do they do that? Oh well. The hyperlearning review books still rock =D

.85 is closer than .9...... and it's certainly easier to work with than .87. The point isn't to round the way you're technically supposed to, it's to round to make the math easy.

Nerdfight!

But yeah, 0.9 gives you will get you answers quicker. However, if someone asks you at a party what cos(30) is, you will be in luck.

Now, I've got important stuff to do, like study thermo.

Sweet Jesus I have no life.

idk, I've always used .9 (makes the calculations way easier), and then always kept "<" next to my calculated answers so I know my final answer should be a bit less than my calculated answer and it's always worked for me. Oh well.
