Just to confirm what we already know...

Thought this was interesting. Puts some objective credibility (as much as the NY Times has) behind what people have been saying for a long time.

They do encourage you. They just don't want you to get paid more as an incentive. Wanting $ is evil; what the hell do you need money for? You wanna make money off sick people??????

There's nothing wrong with wanting to make a great profit. There is something more than a little wrong with wanting to make an obscene profit off of sick people. Medicine should not be the profession one goes into to get rich.

Lol, you should be more clear when you are joking, people might take it the other way.

An interesting trend from the graph is that compensation for primary care has held steady against the CPI (a measure of inflation), and compensation for specialists has actually increased against the CPI. This is contrary to popular knowledge on SDN.
