Congrats on those of you who are accepted. Word of advice on selecting the school for you.

Number 1 concern should be the finances. Ask yourself if how much debt are you willing to shoulder upon graduation from dental school. Graduates who graduate with big debt tend to have a harder time getting their careers going. Contrary to what most of you hear, most GPs don't start out making a lot. If you expect to start making over 100K first year out, then I think that you are having delusions of grandeur (this is not to say that there are not opportunities out there but they are far and few). It is true that most specialist upon graduation make a lot more. I know of colleagues who are in endo and pedo and right off the bat they are making at least 150K and some over 200K. But they have gone through residencies and these happen to be in high demand right now.

To decide on the factors on which dental school is right for you, please see the topic "dental school rankings" as a starting point to help you make an informed decision.

Good Luck and Congrats!!!
