hi guys, i am getting conflicting information from Kaplan and Chad regarding dehydration of alcohols. specifically, in Kaplan page 340 of white book, there is an acid-catalyzed dehydration of a primary alcohol, which Kaplan says will follow E1 mechanism. however, in Chad's videos, he mentions that dehydration of primary alcohols in acid will follow E2 (E1 is for secondary and tertiary alcohols). would anyone be able to elucidate this further? thanks
