I am interested in buying a dental air compressor, a portable one that can be used at home for practice preparation, could anyone recommend any specific brand or model that is not too noisy, not too heavy and not too expensive...

I've never seen a 'quiet' oil-free compressor that can beat out my virtually silent $700 ebay 3.0 HP JunAir from Denmark. I'm more than happy to buy one as backup if what you said is true.

I would suggest you to go with an used air compressor in your budget. I have a deal for you at amazon. Its oil free and noiseless.
