I am a BDS Graduate from India, and a US Citizen. I was planning on pursuing MPH here before applying for an Advanced Standing Program, but now I am looking into Dental Hygiene.

I'm planning on doing Dental Hygiene because I would like to eventually apply for a DDS Advanced Standing Program, and Dental Hygiene degree from here might hopefully better my application. Is this a good path to pursue?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance.

First of all you have to decide what you want to do MPH or Dental Hygiene. Both of the certificates will be valuable to apply for advance standing program. But remember that will not guarantee you place into the program. There are lot of students who are into the program without doing all these degree programs. Committee looks over all application. If you have good application than dont worry about it. Just focus on national boards, have toefl score atleat 100. Work hard and dont loose focus.
