I am a pre-dental student looking to learn more about current issues, and advancements in the world of dentistry.

Are there any general dental publications out there that you recommend so I can learn more? i.e. magazines, news papers/letters. 😕

It may be a little advanced for you, but here s a good site from the Brazilian Academy of Clinical Dentistry.

The standards by which alot of folks go by are some of the following:

Journal of the American Dental Association

Journal of the Academy of General Dentistry

Clinical Research Associates review (Gordon Christensan's product review newslettter)

Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry

Compendium (Peer reviewed articles)

Contemporary Esthetic Dentistry (A quazi peer reviewed show and tell "journal" funded by dental product companies which does from time to time hit on some current hot topics)

Dental Finance (some good interviews conducted by one of the current "guru's", David Hornbrook)

Some basic starter topics to look for currently would be:

1 step self etching primers/adhesives

Dentists vs Dental Insurance companies

Dental access for the underserved populations

Anti carries vaccines

and certainly not last.....
