for a letter of rec is there a favored letter of rec from the following two? Perhaps from the dentist since its more relatable? or does it not matter as long as it shows a reflection of work ethics or whatever.

That depends on a lot of different variables. First, is this your fourth letter, or do were you only planning on having three letters? If you were only planning on having three letters, then change that and get four and get both of the prospective letters.

Secondly, what is your relationship with both of the individuals? Which one is stronger? More importantly, which one can write you a better letter?

my first 2 were science professors and this would be the 3rd.

Then have both of them write you a LOR. The more the better.
