You seem to be a bit lost - this is the school specific sub forum. You're better off pming a mod to close this thread and post in the general pre-allopathic forum.

Also, you might want to shorten up your post or do some quick bullet points of your issue. Not a lot of people will stick around to read the wall of text without some sort of synopsis.

1) Wrong sub forum
2) Should have just posted on the thread about dentistry even if you wanted it in pre-allo
3) You prefer dentistry because you didn't do well on the MCAT and shadowed a dentist and found it boring. I... see...

If you don't love a profession DO NOT DO IT. You put yourself at a higher risk for burnout. Your worries about medicine are coming too early. IF you are accepted and IF you get through school, the whole purpose is to prepare you. You WILL be ready. So the question is, do you have the drive, dedication, and right reasons that are necessary for becoming a physician?

It seems that dentistry is your calling. If you dont like what you do, medicine is not going to bring you any sort of prestige. Being a doctor doesn't automatically make you prestigious, there are ****ty doctors everywhere and their negative character overshadows their choice of profession.

Aim to be the best in the career path of your choice. Associating your name with quality and hard work is what earns you prestige.
