Hello!!

I need help deciding if I should interview at AT Still kirksville. I have an acceptance from Des Moines and love what I’ve learnt about the school! Is it worth interviewing at Kirksville? Thanks!

I interviewed for both but haven’t had the informational for Des Moines yet. I would interview to get the vibe of the school, but personally I did not connect with AT Still. Idk how I feel about the 1+3 being sent to another state with ~10 people but other people love it. They are very mission based and will make sure you fit their mission to help the underserved. They are both well established schools, compare the tuition + match rates.

I interviewed at AT Still and it was fortunate enough to be in-person. I personally did not like the city, but having the opportunity to get an actual interview day was amazing. Having the in-person conversations with faculty really boosted my confidence for other interviews. They seem to have a phenomenal community and support system there. Very grateful to have gotten an acceptance there!

ATSU-KCOM is one of only 7 DO schools with the best accreditation status: 'Accreditation with Exceptional Outcome'. I do believe it is worth interviewing there. You can decide whether you should attend if you're given an A.

I see that the difference between accreditation with exceptional outcome and accreditation is both 1) the tenure of the accreditation and 2) the fact that in just the accreditation status, some things are unmet and require progress reports. Do you have any information on finding out what those elements may be for a particular school? Thank you!

Unfortunately I don’t. We bare our souls to medical schools during the application process. Yet they aren’t very forthcoming themselves.

I interviewed in person with ATSU and got the A. I did not like the overall vibe of the campus and location. However, many of the other candidates on my interview day seemed very happy and excited. Personally, I would interview and just see if you like it or not. No harm in interviewing, especially if it's virtual and will cost nothing in travel.
