Did anyone from DMU call you before your interview?

I just received a call from a doctor at Des Moines and he told me that they like to call the interviewees before the actual interview to tell them about the school and see if they ahve any questions? Did anyone else get a call like this from Des Moines?? I just thought it was kind of odd.

A DMU grad did call me about a week before my interview. He graduated from the same college as I did and is now practicing in California. I really appreciated his effort because I, too, would like to return to my home state to practice sometime in the future and he gave me some good tips and his number in case I had any questions in the future. He called again after he found out (from DMU, I presume) that I was accepted. I don't think that this is strange at all, in fact, it's one of the reasons that I like DMU because everybody is so darn nice and willing to help.
