Did anyone submit Duke Secondary last night?

26 minutes... I am impressed! I submitted mine around 7 last night, and when I checked my email this morning I had already been invited for an interview!?! I do not mean to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I do not think they would have had time to review secondary already. I don't know, but I will take it.

Duke is amazing!!! why waste two years of learning stuff you'll forget, when you can do it in one year (cut out all the crap, learn on your feet second year).

Woah - that's awesome! Congratulations 🙂 They probably loved you based on AMCAS alone and were just waiting for you to turn in your secondary so they could invite you to interview 😉 Good luck!

Thanks ya'll. I hope I did not sound like an ass in this thread, I was just shocked when I checked my email this morning. I think the good news is that even applying late, it will not necessarily be weeks before interview invites go out. Good luck everyone!

There is another explanation. Perhaps they have a few special people picked out beforehand but then the rest of us have to wait until they see what we put on our secondaries (similar to UMich's automatic vs. non automatic invites) I didn't get my interview invitation until a month after I'd submitted my app. So, no worries!! 😀

I think this might be the best explanation. I was, once upon a time, a Duke undergrad.

Yeah, Duke is big on community. Even if you didn't go there for UG, if you live/work in the area they tend to like you a little better because they like to keep their MD grads for residency and onward.

I just graduated from there and I was not included in this uber-cool Automatic Interview Club. But that might have more to do with the fact that I use the word "uber" than anything else. Only time will tell whether or not I get one eventually.
