I don't think it made a difference. Your interviewer has already given their opinion of you more then likely. If they want you they will accept you.

yeah, i agree. just like thank you notes, an email asking your interviewer some questions won't work in your favor, and most definitely won't work against you for that matter.

Most interviewers (at least at all the school's I've interviewed at) have already written their report about you during the day of the interview. The thank you letters and emails should have no affect on your standing with the interviewer.

What's done is done. Stop emailing him expecting him to give you early word of your chances - it doesn't work that way. It would be nice if it did, but I hardly think sustained contact with him will make him rush to the adcom, fling open the heavy wooden doors, and shout breathlessly,

"for the love of God, admit GPACfan!"

at the same time, their curt reply could indicate what they think of you.....

If u insists I will vote differently 😉

True but I was worried about them forwarding it or discussing it at the adcom meeting.

That might be the funniest thing I have heard all day.

That is what I am worried about. I guess I was expecting a more welcoming tone.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I think it's fine. My interviewer actually gave me her card and told me to email her if I had any more questions so I would guess it's on a person-by-person basis (Temple University). I wouldn't say it is improper to email your interviewer at all.

Unlikely. He was probably just annoyed that you asked asinine questions and replied curtly out of obligation. But, as the voting indicates, the overall impact is virtually nil and you need not fret.

In some cases, it DOES work that way. One of my interviewers asked me to get back to him about something we discussed. I emailed him, and told him my interest in the school. He wrote back and said he gave me his full support in my evaluation.

Funny? I knew more people would vote than leave replies (52 compared to 11).

Good. I thought it would be fine to email him.

I hope my interviewer is that kind. But by the wording of his email, I don't think so.

Thanks to everyone for the replies and votes. I didn't think of the situation as a big deal but the gf thought it was tacky and would hurt my chances.

Some people are just curt when they email, I wouldn't worry about it. At least he answered you.

He's probably a busy guy and he's thinking, "how the f*ck did this kid get my email address?" 😛

Thats why we don't listen to the gf 😉

He might print it out and put it in your file. I have seen a couple of my files as interviewers leafed through them in front of me, and every email I had written to the admissions office was printed out and part of my file. Not sure if the interviewers are instructed to do the same, but they might be. In any case, I dont think an email like that would hurt you. I agree with the peeps who said just put it out of your mind...its done and not a big deal. Good luck!

Nada. Your interview eval was probably handed in the same day as your actual interview.

When an interview went particularly well and I hadn't heard from the school in a while, I e-mailed the person to see if they would mind "checking on my application." This is also nice for when I was on the waiting list for so long last year. I kept e-mailing them with updates about my situation. Then, this year, when I reapplied to the same schools, they rooted for me with the admissions office. One of my interviewers from last year met with me again when I had my interview this year. He offered to write an additional recommendation letter for me. I think that it's one of the reasons that I was admitted to that school right away this year.
