Starting medical school in the fall. I've read the posts here about ridiculous "gunner" or fake behavior. I haven't even started class yet and it's beginning. Just from experiencing conversations on our student Facebook page. I'm an "older" student who has worked in healthcare for a bit. I don't believe in this fake impression management and all of the BS behavior that goes along with these students feeling like they have to behave a certain way.

So far can't relate to any of my classmates. Here's to hoping I can find a few who can keep it real and suffer along with me.

As an older student as well, undergrad just kind of sucked. Make friends in the community, that will help keep you sane. But yeah... get ready for 4 years of that...

Undergrad I was able to connect to a few but otherwise just kept my head down.

Medical school might eat away at me having to be with these people every day.

I remember reading Facebook posts from my class before starting. Your impression of your classmates will be based on the dozen most keen/annoying people. If you're more relaxed then you probably won't be posting incessantly before even starting, and those are the people you'll end up getting along with. Don't worry there will be plenty of laid back people, and if you're one of them you'll surely find them.
